The Surf Market, the Outdoor and Sportswear markets are similar. Brands are typically developed by entrepreneurs. These individuals have developed a niche and suffered through the start up boot strapping phase of their businesses. They often begin to encounter operating and financial problems at the 5 to15 million dollar range in volume. This is where the wheels start to come off the wagon. The brand’s growth demands often have outgrow their organization’s capabilities in some or all of the following: operations, strategic planning, financing, marketing, management control and or their experience.
Experience with Brand Founders
In order for the brand to grow these entrepreneurs need to take their business to the next level but they often lack the skills and experience necessary. This is where investors or licensing opportunities come into play. These entrepreneurs are still very important to the future of their brands, but need to focus on specific disciplines and let a more experienced group build the brand. In many cases once a brand transaction has taken place these entrepreneurs often feel disenfranchised and are often neglected to the brand’s detriment.C&C has the experience in working with entrepreneurs and founders to maintain their interest and commitment to their brands.

Donald (Dac) Clark, C&C CEO, Paul Carr, C&C Chairman and Bob Kelley, CFO collectively have deep experience in branding in both manufacturing and retailing.

Together they have seen it all and are usually able to anticipate problems before they cost the bottom line. We have developed and managed in one form or another over 15 clothing, accessory, footwear brands and or retail operations.
